6. The Appearance of Kurogasa: Aired: Toonami, March 24, 2003

  • Opening: Kurogasa Appears: Blood Edit: Blood spurt from Kurogasa's first victim
  • Opening: Kurogasa Appears: Scene Cut: Close up pan of bloody katana and the following blood on the katana in Kurogasa pan removed as well.
  • Opening: Kurogasa Appears: Scene Edit: Dead bodies at Kurogasa's feet.
  • Opening: Kurogasa Appears: Blood Edit: Blood spurts.
  • At the Kamiya Dojo/Flashback: Blood Edit: Blood spurt/drips etc
  • At the Mansion: Line Edit: Cronie: 'I'll Kill him dead.' to 'I'll get him.'
  • At the Mansion: Scene Edit: Kenshin and Sano looking at the dead bodies from the window.
  • At the Mansion: Scene Edit: Pan of bodies in the halls, and stairs left by 'Kurogasa.'
  • Kurogasa Attacks: Blood Edit: Blood spurt from behind on the first person 'Kurogasa' kills.
  • Kurogasa Attacks: Blood Edit: More blood spurts from dying people.
  • Kurogasa Attacks: Line Edit: Sano: 'What the hell?!' to 'What the heck?!'
  • Flashback: Blood Edit: Blood spurts on the people he's killing.
  • Kurogasa Attacks: Airbrush Edit: Ahem...the statue's nipples were removed.
  • Kenshin by the River with Kaoru: Blood Edit: Spray of blood when Kenshin's sakabatou slams on his thumb. The blood flows rather ridiculasly for a longtime.

    NOTE: They edited out lots of the blood and after they didn't in Yu Yu Hakusho just a moment before. Funny that they left in Sano's 'Damnit.'

    NOTE: Strange they should leave some blood in YU Yu Hakusho. *shrugs* I guess that's what I meant about CN having no rhymn or reason to the things they do. They also curiosly left in Kenshin's line to Sano about the fight with Kurogasa not being a 'bar room brawl' in. Funny, huh?

    7. Deathmatch Under the Moon : Aired: Toonami, March 25, 2003

  • Jine and Kaoru: Scene Edit: All traces of Ji ne's cigarette removed. But lines remained the same.
  • Jine and Kaoru/Flashback: Blood Edit: Some blood spurts in his flashback to his Shinsengumi years.
  • Jine and Kaoru: Line Removal: Jine: '...in less time then takes to finish a cigarette.' The line was axed, but hey after all he didn't have a cigarette...so thus the line mote.
  • Jine and Kaoru/Flashback: Scene Edit: A pan of the dead Shinsengumi bodies left by Jine.
  • Kenshin wounded: Scene Edit: There's a pan of Kenshin laying in his blood.
  • Jine casts his spell on Kaoru: Line Removal: Kenshin: 'You bastard!' removed.
  • Kenshin Strikes Back: Blood-Scene Edit: They made the blood spurt from Jine's nose a little less and cut a part of the scene
  • Jine's 'Suicide': Scene Edits: Edits start from after Jine's Line: 'There's one last thing.' They cut him thrusting the wakizashi into his chest, giving a close up of his face, then a pan to Kenshin back to Jine's face then a pan to Kaoru, then to Jine's face again. They cut him falling over and the blood splatter as well as the pan shot of his body from Kenshin and Kaoru's perspective, taking all his lines with that edit. Comes back to Kenshin and Kaoru looking at his body.
  • Jine's 'Suicide': Scene Edits: They cut and past a series of other shots of the characters and remove all traces of Jine's body up to and including a pan of him dying as well as several lines.
  • The Ribbon: Scene Edit: They cut the close up shot of Kaoru's ribbon.

    NOTE: ::blink, blink:: The edits weren't good...but not as bad as they could've been. To be honest the whole essence of Jine's death was kept which was to impart to Kenshin the knowledge that 'A manslayer is a manslayer til the day he dies.' This is very important for later episodes.

    NOTE: These edits were not as smooth as the others have been, there was a point were the picture was fuzzy even. I really wonder if someone else edited this one rather than the usual person. *shrugs* Well, one bad edit does not an edit monster make.

    8. A New Battle: Aired: Toonami, March 26, 2003

  • Megumi being Chased: Line Edit: Cronie: 'Where the hell did she...' to 'Where the heck did she...'
  • Sano and Friends: Scene Edit: They removed some stuff in the flashback about Sano's friend. There's a part where they should him dying from the opium. But, in later flashbacks to this it's there.
  • Beshimi Attacks: Blood Edit: Removal of a blood spurt from Sano's friends when Beshimi's darts hit them.
  • After the Attack on the Dojo: Blood Edit: There's a blood spurt infront of Megumi's face and then a small trail of blood when they pan abck to Yahiko.

    NOTE: Heh...and people were worried they would remove the word opium. Glad to report all of them where there.

  • Kanryu & Megumi Meet: Airbursh Edit: There are eight times we see his cigar. Two times they edited either smoke and/or the cigar burning. Twice they left it in. The remaining four times we see it's not smoking.
  • Kanryu & Megumi Meet: Line Edit: Sano: 'That bastard.' to 'That dirty...'
  • At the Dojo: Line Removal: Kenshin: 'Damn.' was removed.
  • At Kanryu's Mansion: Line Edit: Sano: 'Who the hell are you?!' to 'Who the heck are you?!'

    NOTE: To be honest, I'm not sure if I should count the edits from the rehash of the previous episode or not. So the number counting those in in parenthesis.

    NOTE: The only other thing I noticed was that the first edit mentioned above caused the most of the rehash to be a bit off. They could have just axed it in my opinion. It's not like we needed it anyway since the episode was just on yesterday.

  • The Kenshin-gumi Attacks: Blood Edit: A spurt of blood from the guy Sano hits.
  • The Kenshin-gumi Attacks: Blood Edit: The bloody noses on the guys.
  • The Kenshin-gumi Attacks: Scene Edit: Some of the fighting between them and the gun guys was cut.
  • Kanryu and Kenshin: Line Edit: Kanryu: 'What is God's name...' to 'What in the world...'
  • Kanryu and Aoshi: Line Edit: Kanryu: 'Damn you, Aoshi Shinomori.' to 'Aoshi, you won't get away with this.'
  • Kenshin and Hannya Fight: Blood Edit: Small spurt from Kenshin when Hannya hits him.
  • Kenshin and Hannya Fight: Blood Edit: Blood on Kenshin's mouth reduced slightly.
  • Kenshin and Hannya Fight: Line Removal: Hannya: 'Damn you.' was removed.
  • Kenshin and Hannya Fight: Line Edit: Hannya: 'I've been to Hell and back.' to 'I've been to the other side and back.'
  • Kenshin and Hannya Fight: Blood edit: The spurt of blood from Kenshin's shoulder when Hannya hits him with the claws.
  • Kenshin and Hannya Flight: BLood Edit: A spurt of blood from Hannya's mouth before he passes out.
  • Kenshin and Aoshi Fight: Blood Edit: There's a spurt from Kenshin's mouth when he realizes all the hits that Aoshi got on him as well as the blood splatter on the floor.
